Immigrant Stories and Music for Hanukkah: A fundraiser in support of people impacted by immigration detention in our region

  • Bask in the light of the first Hanukkah candle

  • Celebrate our community's migrant stories and music

  • Learn about current issues facing immigrants in our region

  • Are you or your family immigrants to the US? We would love to hear your 2-6 minute story of being Jewish and coming to this country. All stories are welcome, stories of celebrating Hanukkah are especially appreciated. Contact <jennie.lavine@gmail.com> to volunteer to tell your story or for more information.

A suggested donation of $15-20 per person will support people impacted by immigration detention in our region.

Co-sponsored by and in support of Migrant Advocacy & Support and the Immigrant Solidarity Network

The event will include (1) community members sharing their stories of their families’ immigration to this country, (2) ‘immigrant’ Jewish music performed by Jennie Lavine, Greg Ezra and Dave Davies, (3) short presentations from two local groups addressing issues faced by people impacted by immigration detention, Immigrant Solidarity Network and Migrant Advocacy and Support, (4) we will light candles for the first night of Hanukkah and enjoy their light while having a nosh with community.
